Guest Artists Space

Guest Artists Space

Guest Artists Space (G. A. S.) Foundation (Nigeria), a non-profit founded by Yinka Shonibare CBE RA dedicated to facilitating international cultural exchange and the development of creative and research practices through residencies, education and collaboration.

The Foundation’s ambition is to encourage critical and engaging practices in the fields of contemporary art, design, architecture, agriculture and ecology with the space to research, experiment, share, educate and develop ideas.

2022 sees the exciting launch of Guest Artists Space; a pair of multi-use live/work residency spaces in the heart of the dynamic city of Lagos and on a rural working farm in Ijebu, Ogun State. Building on the success of Guest Projects, London, G.A.S. Foundation serves as an extension of the original residency programme with a focus on establishing a critical centre of research and experimentation in West Africa. G.A.S. Foundation will host cultural exchanges where international participants live and work, alongside their African peers for up to three months whilst engaging in public programmes.
