Tilga Art Fund is now accepting applications from artists between the ages of 18 and 30 working and living in Uganda, or of Ugandan descent. Applicants are invited to submit proposals as individuals or as a group across a variety of creative disciplines that include photography, painting, sculpture, illustration or multidisciplinary arts. The grant is intended to support early career artists in developing their practice through any project of their choosing.

Yinka Shonibare Foundation is currently recruiting for a Fundraising Coordinator. This exciting new role will be focused on developing fundraising opportunities for two sister charities, Yinka Shonibare Foundation (Y.S.F.) London and Guest Artists Space (G.A.S.) Foundation, Lagos.

Two weather-station projects – one in Rajasthan, India, the other in Ijebu, Nigeria – are the artist collective’s contribution to the World Weather Network’s climate-conscious initiative.

In March Guest Artists Space Foundation welcomed artists Evan Ifekoya and Raymond Pinto to G.A.S. Lagos. The opportunities were initiated following a collaboration with Lagos Biennial who approached G.A.S. about hosting artists participating in the 2024 edition as a means of facilitating research, networking and project development opportunities ahead of their presentation at the bi-annual event currently scheduled for February 2024.

Guest Projects Digital alumni Chiizii has collaborated with Queercircle, London to produce a new multimedia work that occupies the Queercircle library and reading room. The piece titled Ogoni 9 uncovers the often-forgotten history of a group of activists known collectively as the Ogoni Nine who were killed by the Nigerian government after protesting the exploitation and degradation of their land by British oil companies.
