Foundation and Yinka Shonibare Foundation (Y.S.F.) are pleased to announce a partnership with Amsterdam-based collective Archival Consciousness through Biblio-Graph, a web application for digitising, publishing, archiving, and interacting with collections. The platform will support our organisations in expanding digital access to our collections and work across Africa and beyond.

Guest Artists Space (G.A.S.) Foundation invites applications to participate in Collecting Sediments, a two-day earth art workshop co-facilitated by current resident Alexandra Mitiku and the Ala-Praxis Collective.

Join us on September 30th, 2026, for Residency Open Studio, a presentation of ongoing research and works by current residents Afsian Aguilar and Alexandra Mitiku. Together, they will open their studios to share the practices and questions shaping their time at G.A.S. The presentation will delve into their distinct focuses. Afsian considers home, identity, and the body through painting, collage, fabric, and installation while Alexandra’s works meditate on migration, imperialism, and the imbalance caused by extractive forms of development. In Lagos she has been observing the juxtaposition of how new land is created through the mangrove tree ecosystem and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal road; both shifting the borders between land and water but resulting in different environmental futures.
